PIN
Set and manage your access PIN
Overview
A PIN (Personal Identification Number) is a numeric code that you use for physical access to GridColo facilities and for identity verification when contacting the helpdesk via phone. PINs serve as an additional security layer beyond your badge, allowing you to access secure areas, use keypads for entry, and verify your identity when calling support. Some sites may require site-specific PINs, while others may allow a single PIN to work across multiple locations.

PIN Requirements
- •Length: Typically 4-8 digits depending on site requirements
- •Security: Choose a secure PIN that's not easily guessable - avoid 1234, birthdates, or repeating digits
- •Site-Specific: PINs may be site-specific or shared across sites depending on configuration
Security Best Practices
Your PIN is a critical security credential. Never share it with anyone, including colleagues or support staff. GridColo support staff will never ask for your PIN over the phone or email. If someone asks for your PIN, it may be a security threat - contact GridColo security immediately. Change your PIN regularly and immediately if you suspect it has been compromised.
