Framework overview
The GridColo framework is a set of service definitions, documents, workflows, technology, and support that a participant adopts under an agreement. This guide describes its components.
Components
- Service definitions: a catalog of what is offered and how
- Commercial documents: reusable agreement and order templates
- Configured workflows: request, approval, and handoff processes
- Licensed technology: the platform modules in scope
- Implementation support: help setting it up
- Review and support: the agreed ongoing model
Example: adopting a request workflow
Illustrative example: an operator licenses the selected request-management components. Implementation maps its catalog, authorized roles, and approval boundaries into the agreed configuration, then tests a representative request. Ongoing services may include the support and review activities purchased under the agreement. A licensed component, its implementation, and continuing support are separate scope decisions—not three names for unlimited operations.
The useful handoff includes the accepted configuration, role assignments, unresolved exceptions, and support route. A successful workflow test does not commission the facility or authorize the operator's staff to perform work outside their existing authority.
What does not transfer
Ownership, customer relationships, staff, operating authority, and existing providers do not transfer just because the framework is used. The agreements identify the roles each party keeps and any work being purchased.
