Overview
The Resources section provides a comprehensive, read-only view of all physical infrastructure resources allocated to your organization at GridColo sites. Resources represent the physical spaces where your equipment is or can be deployed, organized in a hierarchical structure from buildings down to individual racks. Understanding your resource allocation is critical for capacity planning, equipment deployment, and ensuring you're utilizing your allocated space efficiently. This view helps you see exactly where your equipment can be placed at each site, what capacity remains available, and how your resources are organized. Since resources are allocated at the site level, you'll see different resource allocations for each GridColo site where your organization has services.

Resource Types
Buildings
Physical building structures at the GridColo site that house data center facilities
Rooms
Rooms within buildings such as data halls, main distribution frames (MDF), intermediate distribution frames (IDF), and other operational spaces
Areas
Designated areas within rooms that may have specific purposes or access controls
Cages
Secure cage spaces that provide physical security boundaries for customer equipment, typically with controlled access
Racks
Individual rack units (typically 19" or 23" width) where equipment is mounted, with specific power and connectivity capabilities
Access Level
Read-Only: Customer Admins have view-only access to resources. You can see what resources are allocated to your organization, but cannot modify allocations directly through the portal. Resource allocation changes, such as requesting additional space or modifying existing allocations, must be requested through service orders or by contacting GridColo support. This ensures proper approval workflows and maintains accurate records of your physical infrastructure footprint.
