Onboarding
Onboarding runs several workstreams in parallel. This guide describes them so your team can prepare the right people and information. Your onboarding plan sets the actual sequence.
Workstreams
- Commercial: order details, billing contacts, and purchase references
- Technical: space, power, cooling, and equipment details confirmed against the order
- Access: authorized personnel, verification, and site instructions
- Logistics: receiving windows, shipment details, and staging
- Network: carrier orders, cross-connects, and demarcation
- Support: contacts, escalation paths, and ticket access
- Acceptance: the tests and records that confirm the service is ready
Authorized contacts
Name who can request work, approve changes, receive incident notices, and handle billing. One person can hold several roles, but each role should have a named backup.
Exceptions and handoff
Only approved nonblocking exceptions may remain at acceptance under the applicable agreement, with an owner and agreed disposition. A findings list is not permission to accept a material unresolved rights, safety, security, or service-capability failure. Handoff records the approved scope, evidence, and ongoing support route.
